Lübbe

Bastei Lübbe is Germany's largest independent trade publisher, based in Cologne. The company traces back to the Bastei-Verlag founded in 1949, which Gustav Lübbe acquired and expanded in 1953; in 1963 this became the Bastei Lübbe paperback publishing house. Today the publishing group encompasses more than a dozen imprints covering fiction, nonfiction, children's and young-adult books, and audiobooks, with particular strengths in fantasy, science fiction, thrillers, and popular entertainment.
