Anima Mundi Tarot

The Anima Mundi Tarot by illustrator Megan Wyreweden translates the classic Rider-Waite structure into a hand-painted tribute to Earth's biodiversity: each of the 78 cards was individually painted in acrylic on small canvas boards, depicting plants, animals, insects, and landscapes instead of human figures. "Anima Mundi" is Latin for "world soul" – a term coined by Plato for the idea that all living things on Earth are connected as a single spiritual entity. Loosely inspired by medieval iconography and Renaissance art, the deck was funded via Kickstarter in 2017 and has been self-published and sold directly by Wyreweden ever since. The accompanying 52-page guidebook offers an introduction to tarot reading, card meanings, and suggested spreads.
